Kid's Flavored Coconut Water

By Angelina Capalbo December 10, 2020

Creative Roots is offering a "berry" delicious way to help your child stay hydrated — plant-powered waters with a fruit flavor kids crave and the hydration they need.

We tried the Mixed Berry flavored coconut water. My daughter loved it! The strawberry, blackberry and raspberry flavors came together to deliver a great taste and help give her the hydration she needs. Mixed Berry Creative Roots is made with all-natural ingredients, blended with berry flavors and coconut water, for great-tasting hydration with only 1 gram of sugar.*

Dehydration a real issue for kids

Kids. We love ‘em to death. But for the life of us, we’re never quite sure what’s going on with them. When they get tired, cranky, slow, sleepy—you name it—we’re always guessing what they need. A nap? A snack? A meal? A time-out? Yet there’s one thing we never seem to consider: Dehydration. Did you know 1 in every 2 kids is underhydrated?** That's according to a study from the American Journal of Public Health.  And if that isn’t shocking enough, the real kicker is how many kids just plain don’t like water — that's where Creative Roots comes in!

The Mixed Berry Creative Roots is delicious. Want to try another flavor? There's also Watermelon Lemonade, Peach Mango, and Orange Pineapple. Yum!

I was surprised to learn in that study that under-hydration impacts kids far beyond thirst. A recent review of studies on hydration suggests that under-hydration may have a negative impact on cognitive development and school performance. So how can you tell if your child is properly hydrated? An easy test to check if your kid is hydrated is to look at the color of their pee. If your child's pee is dark yellow, they may be under-hydrated. A transparent color indicates proper hydration. Creative Roots created a pee scale to help you keep track and know when you need to hydrate!

PeeChart

At first, I thought this pee test was silly but my daughter and I were actually both dehydrated. Check your little one's pee and while your there don't forget to check yours too.

Popsicle fun!

When you little ones are sick, it can be difficult to get them to stay hydrated. One thing that's worked for me is turning that drink into a popsicle. Simply pour  your Creative Roots plant-powered beverage into popsicle molds and freeze! Add pieces of fresh fruit to make it extra fun and nutritious! Here's a tip: Using Creative Roots Flavored Coconut Water will make the popsicle transparent, so your little one can see the fruit pieces!
